By Grace O'Neill | Feb 10, 2013

This past Saturday, the Block Island Hurricanes Varsity Girls basketball team faced off against Shea High School, going head to head in a challenging game before coming out victorious with a 39-27 win. Up by 11 at the end of the first half, the Hurricanes maintained a solid 10 point lead throughout the game, as the girls competed heavily against their relatively evenly matched rivals. Kiley “Mad Dog” Hall lead the Hurricanes with 18 points, 12 alone from the foul line, while Millie Starr followed up with 12 points of her own.

The win over Shea brought the Girls Varsity their third win of this year, as they head into their last two games of the season this weekend, competing against Hope High School on Friday at Hope, and against Rocky Hill at the school gym on Saturday at 12:30.
