Tony Musante dies
Word has reached us that long-time island resident Tony Musante has died.
Fran Migliaccio writes :" It is my very sad duty to inform you that Tony died on Tuesday, November 26th, from unexpected complications after surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
In Jane's words, "He was a grand lover of life, of acting, of family, friends, of humanity and the arts." He also loved Block Island, and his friends here. As Tony and Jane made their way around the Island through the decades, they made many friends. Some of you may remember that Tony served as Grand Marshall of the July 4 parade one year, driving a pony cart. On another occasion, he held a discussion on acting and the theater at the Island Free Library. Jane and Tony bought their house on Payne Road through Jack Gray, and spent time here whenever their schedule allowed.
Following visiting hours at Greenwich Village Funeral Home on Monday, and a funeral mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Church on Tuesday, Tony's body will be brought to Block Island on Wednesday, December 4, for burial at the Island Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend, celebrate the life of this wonderful man, and offer any words they can.
