Singer Kathleen Fowle at Harbor Church
Harbor Church will present a benefit concert by Catholic songwriter and “joyful communicator,” Kathleen Fowle, on Friday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. Fowle will sing her original spiritually-flavored songs and play the grand piano. CDs and refreshments will be available both before and after the concert.
Kathleen, originally from Maine, gave up a career in professional music and broadcast journalism in the 1990s when, as she put it, she “saw the face of Jesus in a homeless man.” She worked the streets of Saint Paul, Minn., befriending homeless men and women. She has worked in jails, prisons, recovery facilities, and hospices in the U.S., Europe, and Israel. She is inspired by Saint Francis and, although she performs contemporary Christian music often identified with evangelicals, she remains a faithful Roman Catholic.
Fowle is a multi-award-winning songwriter whose radio single “Fly Free” landed at number 11 for songs of the year by Christian Radio Weekly. She has released five albums; her most recent release is “Coming Home.” CDs will be on sale at Harbor Church after the concert. Tickets, available at the door, are $15. Net proceeds will benefit Harbor Church’s ministries.
