|9:00 AM - 4:00 PM|
Tomorrow during the Art and Crafts Guild Fair at the Museum 20 pre-signed copies are available for sale.
And on July 15th come to the book signing with author Captain Bill Palmer from noon to 2 pm. Capt. Bill Palmer, Northeast Atlantic wreck diver, writes about plunging below the surface off the coast of Block Island to explore the U-853, the last German submarine sunk in World War II. The Last Battle of the Atlantic: The Sinking of the U-853 has over thirty years of research including personal documents and photos that have never been published before. Within the pages of the book, Bill describes the life of the crewmembers 130 feet below the surface and he includes one-of-a-kind high quality images of the ship itself underwater – so we can explore it too!
Admission for the Historical Society Museum will be free during the book signing on the 15th. Guests are encouraged to visit our new exhibit, “Surrounded by the Sea: The Block Island Story.” View rare artifacts from the U-853 wreck itself and donated objects from other shipwrecks around the island anytime we're open!
See you at the museum!
