Our community forum
One of our goals for the new year is to raise awareness that The Block Island Times website can be used as a community forum that provides information about events and organizations to the widest audience possible.
There are a number of ways to use this community resource:
The calendar posts thousands of events every year from AA meetings to town board meetings to trivia night at Club Soda. Anyone can go to blockislandtimes.com and either post information or view the calendar for free. If you can’t post it, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop off a written notice at our office.
The classified ads are a great way to sell your services or goods. If the item is free, then the ad is free. You can post it right on the site.
Bulletins post news of ferry cancellations, meeting schedule changes or late breaking news of public events.
Briefs provide information about such diverse topics as lunch specials at the BIG, library events and Common Ground Coffee House program announcements.
We also have ferry and plane schedules, yellow and white pages phone numbers, the weather, tide information and news stories.
Blockislandtimes.com offers an opportunity for everyone to share information.
You do need to register a membership by going to the website and clicking on “join.” Some of these privileges require a $10 annual fee. The fee covers costs but also works as a barrier to prevent spam and unwanted postings.
Bookmark blockislandtimes.com on your computer, check it every day and join the conversation.
