By Block Island Fishworks | Nov 12, 2013

Capt. Al Anderson is a well known figure in the fishing community. Al Anderson has tagged and released over 60,000 fish, including stripers, sharks, billfish, and bluefin tuna, for the American Littoral Society.  Inducted into the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame in 2012 and recognized as one of five winners in the Sportfishing Magazines 'Making a Difference' campaign in 20ll, Capt. Anderson   recently published his 5th book - "Island Stripers".  Local surf fisherman Hank Allen and Guide Christopher Willi contributed a chapter each in this comprehensive guide to Block Island striper fishing.  Beyond the 'how to' aspect, Anderson touched on the biology of the species and his tagging experiences and the importance of preserving striped bass for the sustainability of the fishery.  This is a must have for the striper fishermen. Available at Island Bound bookstore.
