Due to a conflict with the annual Joan Abrams Award presentation, which this year will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, during the joint meeting of the Tourism Council and Block Island Chamber of Commerce, Block Island Express, operators of the fast ferry between New London and Block Island, is rescheduling its Open House and Trip Around the Block to Thursday, September 27, from 3 to 6 p.m.

“We congratulate Ray and Sue Linda and their family on being recognized for this award and encourage all to attend the presentation at the Spring House on September 26,” the company said in a statement. “We also look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, September 27, for our annual Open House and Trip Around Block Island.”
