Kid’s Corner: This week’s Block Island Club schedule
Movie night took place last week, which was a fun way for the kids to hang out together and enjoy themselves in the Club’s relaxed, welcoming environment. The Club also celebrated their success in the Fourth of July parade. The float was based on the Disney version of “Peter Pan” and was extremely creative — a lot of hard work went into it.
There are many scheduled activities on the Club’s agenda for this week.
First, there will be a kids’ barbecue on the evening of Tuesday, July 16, at 6 p.m., which is open to kids of any age. The annual Block Island Club Dance on Friday, July 19, at 7 p.m., which is always a great way for kids to meet each other and have fun.
This is an event held for the older kids — an opportunity for them to hang out and to feel connected to the Club. Activities for the older members, such as the dance, provide them with events for their age group, and let them know that the Club is open to kids of all ages. In previous years, the instructors have also taken part in the dance, by getting dressed up along with the kids. The dance has been a Club ‘tradition’ for many years, and the kids seem to always enjoy it.
