New ART OPENING at the ISLAND GALLERY on

Come meet Featured Artist,
during the opening reception at the Island Gallery on
Saturday, July 23 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
Light snacks and wine will be available while Joan explains her work to you.
Joan is a Providence Artist who joined the Island Gallery this season. She has been professionally painting for the past fifteen years and is an award winning artist with works shown locally and abroad. She is formally trained as a fine artist as well as an educator; Joan has studied with re-known artists at Rhode Island College, Rhode Island School of Design, Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston and The Providence Art Club. She is an Artist Member at the Providence Art Club and has a studio at the club in the Deacon Taylor House located at 9 Thomas Street.
Joan’s work is largely representational of local New England seascapes and landscapes. The vibrant colors and bold brush strokes is most notable in her work.

Joan’s exhibition will be on display July 23 - 29, 2011. However, several paintings will be in displayed throughout the summer at the Island Gallery.
The Island Gallery is located at 211 Water Street (2nd floor, over the Post Office). Gallery Hours: Tuesday –Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., (closed Monday)
