They pulled it off. It's July Fourth, and the Surf Hotel has officially opened its doors for the first time in five years.

The hotel opened yesterday, Tuesday, July 3, welcoming guests to seven rooms.

"It was nip and tuck down to the wire," reports the hotel's attorney, John Pfarr. The liquor license was pulled at 1 p.m., the hotel opened at 3 p.m., and the first liquor order was due in on the last boat yesterday.

"There will be very limited food/beverage service this week, but we will be offering something," said Pfarr. Like a big thrill to the hotel's thousands of loyal fans.
