Holocaust Rembrance Day, April 8, 2013
Never again. On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, we should remember the courage of those who rose against their captors, when in reality, all hope was gone, and pledge to them, "Never should the atrocities you suffered be perpetrated against anyone again."
We should remember those who were taken and subjected to hard labor and death, and those who escaped but whose lives were forever changed.
Never again should the world tolerate the cruelty and the inhuman acts that the Nazis perpetrated against the Jews, the Gypsies, the weak and disabled as well.
Never again should religion, race, ethnic background, disability or sexual orientation define who lives and who dies, who is equal or unequal.
