Haps the Holidays from the Ho Ho Ho HOULIHANS!
'Tis the season hey folks! Well, Santa came early at casa Houlihan; I mean really early, last March! This is when we adopted Tommy, aka Sailor. This Cockerpoo is being schooled by Mac the Scotty, who is "The Dude." Me and my bride Cindy simply love these dogs. Moreover, an early Christmas came for some in the form of Hurricane Sandy. Some people in the building trades got a little bump from this blow. It is great to see people working any time of the year, but it's really great, especially at Christmastime.
The docks are bustling with folks bringing their "Holiday Trees" out to the island. I must say that I've been vigilent referring to said trees by their proper nomenclature, and not "Christmas Trees"; God forbid. As I write this, my wife is singing Christmas carols about having a " Very Merry Christmas" and "Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree" to our dogs. My wife sings a mean carol, very expressive and she dances too. It's a veritable Norman Rockwell scene going on here. Stringing popcorn and cranberries to drap over the trees will happen this Sunday. My wife does nothing halfway.
Shopping done folks? Not me, haven't even begun; however, being the hopeless romantic that I am, a trip to Tiffany will happen(not on-line!!! I'm a purist). But, if I get jammed up for time, I'll hit Alex and Ani hard; I may go the engraving route this season ya know, because I'm a Prince. My freight boss in Point Judith suggested I try the tin lighthouse charms that are a big hit in Westerly this year.
On Tuesday, Interstate Navigation's Christmas party at Spain, was one of, if not the best the company's ever had. After a great dinner of Prime Rib, and Swordfish, we were treated to a show by a hypnotist, which made the night. Katie Bonin, Athena and Serena Linda had the crowed roaring. It was great fun and I can't wait til next year to see my wife join the line-up; it will be most assuredly, a "Hallmark Moment." Kudos for Bill McCombe for pulling off such a fun show and to Ray and Sue Linda for being so generous-every Christmas season and providing a great night with lots of nice prizes in the traditional raffle.
So, from the Houlihans, and all of the Interstate gang, we hope everyone has a happy, safe and Merry Holiday season!
