The Shellfish Commission is bringing in a new transplant of quahogs to the Great Salt Pond on July 10, said Shellfish Commissioner Lois Bendokas.

The pond will be closed for about 10 days, until July 20, said Bendokas This allows the new clams to “dig in,” reported First Warden Kim Gaffett at the July 1 Town Council meeting.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather delays, said Gaffett.
