Grele steps down as ELC DirectorJulie Conant succeeds
Early learning Center Director Christine Grele is stepping down after about four months on the job. Julie Conant has been named as her successor, according to Lisa Robb, Chair of the Early Learning Center Board of Directors.
In a letter to families, Grele said that, although she is leaving the director position, she will “continue to work on planning and grant projects as a consultant.”
Robb said that Grele’s last official day is April 1. As for Julie Conant, Robb said, “We’re very happy. We know Julie, there will be a nice smooth transition and we’ll keep the momentum going that Christine started.”
In her letter, Grele said: “Very soon, we will be finishing our applications for accreditation, and I feel good about the work the board, the teachers and I have done to prepare. It couldn’t have happened without your participation and your understanding as new guidelines were developed and implemented.”
She thanked everyone for their support, and ended her letter by saying “I look forward to seeing the children grow and to seeing the Center thrive.” — Lars Trodson
