Featured Letter: Roll Call thanks
Many thanks to all who made the Harbor Church’s annual Roll Call dinner a huge success.
For all the workers, on prep, cooking, serving, cleaning up, it could not have happened without you. Special thanks to Joe Sprague for the island-grown potatoes, to Brad and Anne Marthens who again loaned the Atlantic kitchen for cooking them, to Cindy and Stan Geer at BI Depot and Carrie Todd at Red Bird for use of walk-in refrigerators, to the Boy Scouts who helped set up and the Honor Students who helped serve, to Amy Keeler who provided a glorious display of fall flowers for the front foyer, to an Island-wide network of turkey roasters and pie bakers, and 11-year-old Andrew McGarry who finished his dinner and volunteered to stay and do dishes! Thanks to all the church members and friends (and the usual shanghaied visitors) who pitched in along the way and, of course, to all who came to support this most important fundraiser of the Harbor Church.
Hundreds were served, a good time was had by all, if you couldn’t make it this year we hope to see you next October.

P.S.: We need also recognize Cheryl for her extraordinary service. We are truly blessed to have someone willing to step up to the daunting task of organizing the feeding of hundreds AND who is able to draw on her many yearsof experience and initiate changes in this most traditional of church dinners. Through it all she maintains a good humor that is humbling. Thank you, Cheryl.
