Deepwater Wind to announce major environmental agreement
Several major conservation groups, along with Deepwater Wind, are set to make a major announcement tomorrow regarding new protections for marine mammals, including the endangered North Atlantic Right Whale.
A teleconference scheduled for Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. will include representatives from the Conservation Law Foundation (CLF), the Natural Resources Defense Council, National Wildlife Federation, Deepwater Wind and members of the media.
The conference is to announce that these “conservation organizations have developed a set of additonal protective measures with Deepwater Wind that will minimize impacts on North American right whales.” The organizers said the agreement will have “national significance.”
More details tomorrow after the teleconference. — Lars Trodson
