BIRA and the Conservation Commission are very grateful to all those local heroes who came out to install snow fencing on the dunes recently!  We are asking for one final push on the project on Saturday, April 27th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  Perhaps those of you who regretted not being able to participate in the first work day will help us out, along with some repeat stalwarts!  We will meet at Town Beach at 9:00 and break up into work groups.  There are three access points that need fencing: one just below Scotch Beach and two at Mansion Beach.  Snow fencing has been proven, over 200 years, to be the most effective method of catching drifting sand and keeping it on the dunes, where it belongs, and out of the snaking access paths.  Last time, we installed over a half mile of fencing, and it looks beautiful on our dunes!  Please consider coming out for that shorter work day!  We need all the help we can get, and we deeply appreciate your kind assistance!
