Change of Season

"I drive past this cluster of small buildings on West Side Rd. several times every day. Always in a rush, on my way to or from work, to drop off or collect my kids, I hurry by hardly taking notice. I usually have my camera with me, because I hate to miss out on photo moments — the light in the change of seasons can be magical. On this morning I noticed. Maybe it was the crisp, cold air that made the scene pop out at me. Perhaps it was the way the sunlight added warmth to these buildings and that big old bare tree with the empty harbor beyond. I pulled over in my car and got out to take the picture. The island’s landscape is just as wonderful in the fall and winter as it is in summer. You just have to slow down to look at it." —Kari Curtis
