Block Island Christian Fellowship

The Block Island Christian Fellowship meets weekly on Sunday mornings from 8:30-9:30am at the Block Island Community Center, which is located in back of Aldo’s Restaurant.

This is a non-denominational church, which promotes the idea of getting to know God in a personal way.

In September of 2008 a believer from the Light of the World Church in Albany, NY received a call from God to come to Block Island and train leaders for Christian ministry.

And thus, there came into being the Block Island Christian Fellowship.

The messages are interactive. This means that those who attend will be asked to read the scripture sections that are being addressed. Also, they can freely share, if and when God puts something on their heart.

The basis for being able to receive divine insight into the messages is that the hearer must be under the influence of the Holy Spirit. This means that the Holy Spirit must be living inside of the hearer. This can only come about by being born again.

Being born again means that we acknowledge that we are a sinner, who needs a savior, this savior being Jesus Christ. This is not simply an acknowledgement that he is a member of the trinity. Nor is it simply awareness that he is the son of God.

This is a self realization that there is nothing in my own life that can allow me to merit God’s favor. I have nothing to offer God.

Therefore, I confess that I believe in Jesus Christ as God, who preexisted time; came to earth in the form of a man, but still as God; born of a virgin; lived a sinless life; died on a cross paying the penalty for the sins of the whole world satisfying the demands of payment for sin that God the Father required; forgave all sin; rose from the dead after 3 days, not to die again; ascended into heaven; and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.

If you believe in this Jesus, then the scriptures state that you will receive another member of the trinity called the Holy Spirit, who will provide for us his presence and spiritual gifts, along with recalling and giving us insight into Jesus words and deeds.

What should follow is the learning of the various doctrines of the faith: e.g. forgiveness, redemption, eternal security, etc.

After which, we are to learn how to walk by means of the Holy Spirit, who desires to fill us with himself.

This involves a process known as personal sanctification.

Personal sanctification is all about becoming aware of those thoughts, words, and actions that inhibit us in our walk with God, and learning how to think differently by means of appropriating, memorizing, meditating upon, and applying God’s scriptural perspectives toward our self, others, and the many situations that we find ourselves involved in.

Over time, we will begin to experience the love, joy, and peace of the Holy Spirit operating in our life. We will begin to understand Jesus words when he said that he will give rest unto our souls. Changes that have taken place in our thoughts and speech will become manifest in our actions.

Church assembly will no longer be a place that we attend just for a social gathering, but it will be a place where God the Holy Spirit is becoming more and more in control of our soul and in the souls of our fellow believers. Our conversations will no longer be centered on self endeavors and accomplishments, but will be centered on God’s working in our life and in the lives of others.

Please call (401) 466-5550 and ask for me, James Rondinone, if you have bible questions, need visitation, and would like prayer for physical healing, etc.
