BIRA Membership Drive Continues!

By Block Island Residents Association | Jun 16, 2014

Our island organization membership is open to all island residents and we welcome your joining us!  BIRA advocates for both year-round and seasonal islanders. Anyone is welcomed at the monthly meetings of our Board of Directors; the directors rotate regularly. We have taken action on many issues, such as dune restoration and preservation, deer overpopulation and tick-borne disease, and island telecommunications improvements, and we regularly donate funds to community organizations and for adult education scholarships. Our membership drive began in April, and is still ongoing, despite a wonderful response, for which we thank all of you members!  Membership dues help us to make the island better, and they also entitle you to discounts at several island establishments, making it possible for the membership to pay for itself! Recent additions to our discount plan include the Channel Marker and the Surf Hotel!
