An easy way to stop the spread of milkweed

Black swallow-wort (Cynanachum louiseae), a species in the milkweed family, is an invasive vine that is becoming increasingly visible on Block Island. Like a milkweed, it has large seed pods that are just now beginning to burst open. You can help prevent the spread of this invasive plant by picking off the pods before they release their seeds. Dispose of the seeds and pods carefully. — Renée Meyer

This is a very misleading title. We just read an article about the disappearance of the monarchs due to a lack of milkweed, and are we  now supposed to get rid of more milkweed?

The headline is too vague, yes. We should have been more specific about the type of milkweed — black swallow-wort — that is invasive.
