An Act of Kindness
The Block Island School and the Senior Advisory Group are joining forces to create a mentoring program for local young people called Block Island C.A.R.E.S. (Connecting All Resources for Educational Support).
“We’re looking for adult members of the community to work with school children as a mentor,” said Senior Advisory Coordinator Kathleen Mitchell. “If you’re someone that can donate your time and talent for as little as one hour a week, even for just one month, we’d love to have you participate. We plan on offering different areas for mentoring — anything from gardening to reading. Come join us. You could make a difference in a young person’s life!”
Contact Kathleen Mitchell at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 466-5419, ext. 2 to help the young people on the island.
