Judy Gray and Jules Craynock are both recently retired to BI from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) .  They will each present a short talk on their work as NOAA meteorologist and oceanographer (respectively), with tales of the challenges and adventures inherent in NOAA field work.    They will discuss flying in hurricane hunter aircraft to study winds along the mountainous coast of Alaska,  conducting deep sea cruises in the Arctic and in the tropics to study the ocean's role in climate change, studying the fate of pollutants in U.S. coastal environments, and leading scientific diving programs to study coral health around the world.  Their's were unique careers and their talk will bring us a unique perspective on the work of NOAA scientists!
