"The simplicity of winter has a deep moral. The return of Nature, after such a career of splendor and prodigality, to habits so simple and austere, is not lost either upon the head or the heart. It is the philosopher coming back from the banquet and the wine to a cup of water and a crust of bread." ~John Burroughs, "The Snow-Walkers," 1866

Nice shots.  What will it take to bury all those power lines in and around town.  Look closely at some of those photos and imagine them without those lines.  We know there are a lot of priorities for the taxpayer resources on this island.  This should be one of them.

A few years back, former First Warden Jack Savoie joked that the Historic District Commission probably wouldn't allow the town to bury the power lines!
