The Block Island Prevention Task Force is sponsoring this annual trip to NYC for the 8th grade class at the Block Island School. This year, there are six students in the 8th grade. This trip is a part of "Roots & Wings", a three year prevention program that the task force has coordinated for the past twelve years. The students take part in an off island activity to foster their independence, enhance life skills and expand their education by learning through experience.
Look for this group on Thursday, March 29, outside the NBC studio of the TODAY SHOW starting at 7 a.m. They will be holding up a large BLOCK ISLAND SCHOOL banner!!
